# KYC Agent

The **KYC Agent** helps teams collect and organize the information required for identity verification and KYC/AML review. It reduces repetitive document handling while keeping the compliance decision with the responsible people in your organization.

## How the workflow works

    Start manually with uploaded or existing files. Optional email and connected-folder intake can collect documents automatically.

    The agent reads the documents and proposes records for the fields your team uses.

    Compare the proposed information with the source files, correct the draft, and follow your organization's verification and escalation policy.

    Approved records are stored in the selected Data Collection with the related run history.

## Your Setup page

The KYC Agent currently follows Layest's guided import setup:

* **Manual uploads** are included.
* **Data Collection output** is required.
* **Email intake** is optional.
* **Schedules and file-event rules** are optional.
* **Connected folders** are optional for recurring document intake.
* **External destinations** are optional for approved outputs.

Start with a manual case and confirm the review checklist before automating intake.

## A practical review checklist

Confirm that:

* the person or organization is matched to the correct case
* names, dates, identifiers, and addresses match the source evidence
* required files are present and readable
* any discrepancy is recorded and escalated
* approval is completed by the correct role
* retention and access follow your organization's policy
