How reporting works
1
Choose the source
In Setup, select the project or Data Collection records the agent should use. This required source keeps every report grounded in the right workspace information.
2
Add supporting files
Include selected project files or attach additional Layest files and folders when starting the report.
3
Generate the report
The agent reads the configured information and prepares the report in the selected language and report format.
4
Review the result
Open the completed report in Layest, confirm that the message and figures fit the intended audience, and make any required edits.
5
Download or deliver
Every completed run stores a report record and creates a downloadable PDF. Optional external destinations can receive a copy.
Your Setup page
The Reporting Agent keeps the essential choices visible:- Project or Data Collection source is required.
- Report record is included and stores the completed report in Layest.
- Report PDF is included for a downloadable version.
- Schedules are optional for recurring status, quarterly, and sustainability reports.
- External destinations are optional for delivery outside Layest.
- Ready to run appears once the required source has been selected.
Configure the source once for repeatable reporting. Attached chat files and folders can still provide additional context for an individual report.
Prepare a useful source
The best reports start with clean, relevant information. Before the first run:- choose the project or collection your team already maintains
- include fields that explain performance, milestones, risks, and next steps
- confirm the latest records are published
- add only files that help the intended audience
- use clear labels that a reviewer will recognize
